Groping On A Train Is Segregation The Only Answer To Sexual Harassment?

Is segregation the only answer to sexual harassment? - groping on a train

Subtitle of the article: "There is a growing global trend of women only spaces on trains, beaches and hotels. But makes women safer?"

Quote this article: "A recent report revealed that two of the three drivers in New York City subway train was sexually molested the survey (which is a mixed group, with almost 70% of respondents are women). In Tokyo, the problem is so bad -- reported 64% of women in their 20s and 30s groping in the train or transit sites. In fact, the problem is so well recognized in Japan, there is even a special name for the harassment on the train Chikan. And the city in response to such harassment on a large scale? to establishing a woman's car only to protect potential victims.

Japan is not the only country in a separate room is reserved for the safety of women was. There are women only carriages in Rio de Janeiro, Moscow and Cairo. Italy has just a women's only beach.

The separation is the only answer?

It is interesting that the places where they had blown up in the segregated areas are very male dominated, macho cultures that make me believe that the nature of the imbalance between the sexes, which are present in these cultures, given to the prosecution group is regarded as inferior.
Segregation does not work in the United States and South Africa.
What should happen that the behavior stop, which is no longer acceptable. Segregation only reinforces the attitude that men have the "privilege" to behave in this way, and instead of addressing the problem of killing the only "solution" to women.

The problem of separation is that they never get to the other side to understand, and if he is, you respond with astonishment how they are different from you, rather than seeing how much you can really both.

I met some people very well be your friend. It must be near the people together, get to know each other.

Carriers that do not cleave to allow the error to exhibiting the first opt to choose.

In this forum, which aims to collect information from others, women are harassed, offended, threatened and despised. My opinion is yes, while the men they feel open to hunting for women and has no effect can be separated on women.

Yes, in situations such as subways, hotels and beaches. (And if the space of segregation is an option and not an obligation for women.)

No, in situations such as work and school.

However, it goes without saying exclusion of women is a reactionary attitude toward unwanted sexual advances and the common men. The real solution might be to ask the authors are drawn straight men in a crowded subway with fat, hairy, ugly ass filled, hot gay guys who have no respect for them than straight men. Grope away! This experience could be the right man for empathy towards women.

(And I mean .... I do not believe that all people Gay Straight Guy resort, like all women, the types of attacks.)

Some felt that reflects the need, the sad way in which some people might deal with women in the community. I hope we are not yet at a stage where it is necessary for women to make a little bit safer. I would be very suspicious of how the allocation could go: to the protection, but normally controlled by the.

I do not think that we are at this stage, and hope that never happens in my country

I tend to believe that the real answer is education.

Children should from an early age, that all men are equal and all people are treated with the same respect that I would always have to be taught.

Children need that everyone on this planet to learn, regardless of gender, skin color or sexual orientation, have feelings and the right to be treated with respect. Rather than worry about someone because of their skin color, we must accept as friends. Rather than worry about someone because of their sexual orientation, we have to respect her, because even if we start with their sexual orientation, which most likely are very good and does not deserve to be respected in agreement.

On a larger scale, let's look at some of the terrorist organizations in the world. Many of them hate all Americans (and most of the free world) and who want to kill all Americans. His lack of education indoctrinated to believe that all Americans are bad, as their enemies. The fact is that most Americans, most of Italy,Most Germans, most of Canada, most Israelis and most people in the entire population of the world is inherently good, caring people who would help others in times of trouble, if those terrorists knew the truth, these terrorist Organizations will be deleted.

Education is the key. Teach your children at a very young age, how to treat everyone with respect. The attempt to equality. Teach you how negative words and gestures can hurt people. Correct inappropriate behavior at a very early age. If you are the foundation for strengthening along her youth.

I think this is the real cure and not the "priest" of it as segregation.

Maybe we should all wear burqas and not just the people with our "female cunning to try." For me, where is the separation between the sexes. For more information about how the police in the subway and harsher penalties for the perpetrators?
